Rathpeacon G.A.A. Awards Night 2023
We had a fantastic night at our recent Awards Night in Rathpeacon Community Hall. We celebrated our inaugural LGFA teams, our underage boy’s players of the year, our adult players of the year and several honorary awards.
This was our busiest awards night in over ten years with the Community Hall absolutely packed with players, parents and organisers.
The most special award and moment of the evening was saved for the very end, with Terence McCarthy receiving ‘Clubperson of the Year’. It was a total surprise to the local legend who serves as Treasurer on the Rathpeacon G.A.A. Committee. He also coaches our LGFA teams, the U-16 Blarney team, plays on our Adult Junior team, secures much needed grants for the club and does several other jobs around the clubhouse and community.
Richie Wiseman and Billy Clifford were also honoured for their decades of service to the club, both having key roles in management, committees and funding for the club over the years.
Alice O’Neill was given a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine to say thanks for her annual hot whiskeys on St. Stephen’s morning. They are always popular and some say they have even helped their team to perform better in the Poc Fada!
Have a look at some of the photos from the night below.
